It’s dark when the alarm goes off

We wake the girls

Put the kettle on for tea

Then all four of us bundle up and stumble outdoor backyard

To wait

To watch

To listen to the birds

To just be

I love every second of the 90 minutes we are out there together

Witnessing the miracle of birth

The beautiful birth of yet another new day
