DAY 23 -
Dear Dale,
Remember our first Valentine’s Day together? I flew to Toledo to be with you and we shared “Dutch Cocoa” cookies in your room at the fraternity house. Fast forward 26 more Valentine’s Days and here we are in our sweet cozy home with our two girls...
I’m so grateful that we’ve been together and happy for so long. I’m so glad that we fell in love when we were in our early 20s and got to experience so much growing up time together... All those partying in the city years. The getting engaged and married and still partying years. The becoming new parents and moving to the suburbs years. The raising a family, going to school activities and dance recitals years. And now that we are nearing the tail end of that, it definitely feels like yet again a new chapter.
Our kids are getting older and more independent and we are getting some time back now to focus on each other again. I love that we now go to yoga together every week, dance together every month, and exchange a five minute massage every night. We are a great team!
Dale, I feel so lucky to have you as my partner in this lifetime. You are a kind, warm, strong, handsome, funny, honest and loving man. Your devotion and commitment to taking care of me and the girls makes my heart melt. I feel so safe with you. I feel so loved by you. I feel so cherished by you. Thank you for being my dream come true.
And after all these years, you’re “still the one”!
You, Dale, are the one for me, the love of my life. I’m eternally grateful for all the years we’ve enjoyed together, and I pray that we have many many many more years to come. Here’s to so many more Valentine’s Days being happy and healthy and TOGETHER.
Loving you always, and beyond the veils of time.
